More updates...

Dropoff yesterday? Pickup should be in approximately 2 weeks, I'm thinking 1/10 or 1/11? On average, our TA should come 2-3 weeks after that. Two weeks puts us smack in the middle of Chinese New Year, when all of China shuts down for a week to celebrate. I am hoping that we will get a superfast TA (maybe the workers will feel like cleaning their desks off before the holiday?) but I am guessing that it will come in February.

More steps to check off!

We received our 1-800 approval on 12/13/2011, and our file was cabled to the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou on 12/22/2011. Now we are waiting for our agency to drop off our DS 230, then two weeks later our Article 5 should be issued by the Consulate. Then we officially start our wait for Travel Approval! As soon as we receive our travel approval, our agency will make all the necessary appointments for us, and we can buy our plane tickets! We are still hoping to travel in late February or early March.

New Pictures!

A family is in China adopting their son from the same orphanage Jack lives in. They were allowed to visit the orphanage and take pictures of some of the waiting children. They sent me several photos of Jack!

This one is my favorite picture! I love how he's just relaxing with his feet up... Photobucket

Meet Jack!

Photobucket

He is 18 months old, and waiting for us near Shanghai, in eastern China. Well, we're waiting for him. He has no idea that his world is going to change in a big way!

We started the process to adopt last spring, and got our tentative approval at the end of April. We worked on our dossier all through the summer, and waited (and waited and waited) for our homestudy to be done, then waited (and waited and waited) for our I-800A immigration approval. Finally, our dossier was sent to China at the end of September. We received our official approval to adopt Jack at the end of November.

We're hopeful that we will be able to travel in early spring to meet Jack and bring him home. Andy misses Jack already, and wants to know if we go to China tomorrow to bring him home, and if he can keep Jack. Evie is a little disappointed that Jack isn't a baby sister.
